▷Quickware Alt Detector◁ BANNED!

BANNED 3/8/11-

Soft Linden commented on VWR-24746:
-----------------------------------

Thank you for the additional ARs, all. After some research and follow-up with some of you who reported, it's clear that there is no such thing as a ToS-compliant version of QuickWare Alts Pro. For lack of a good faith effort on resolving issues associated with this device, many assets have been blacklisted and accounts held. I can't go into specifics beyond that.

If you see QuickWare Alts Pro return under a new name or creator, please select the device and file Abuse Reports against the device's owner. Be sure to mention which specific device you have found.

As always, file ARs based on first-hand knowledge. There's nothing wrong with peers filing additional ARs to underscore importance. However, each person filing should take a close look and ensure they understand the object of the AR. They should personally be able to justify the AR if asked. Brief and verifiable is best.-

UPDATE 3/8/11- This notice was to the Quickware group:
"QuickWare News.

Unfortunaly we have to anounce that due to the new TOS we have to make some changes.

I think most of you heard of greenzone and there fight for privacy.

Linden Labs changed there TOS wich does not allow the disclosure of alternate accounts anymore.
In the QuickWare shop there are many people filing abuse reports, so there is a big change that our system will be disabled soon by Linden Labs.

Hoever;
We will continue our battle.
All alt detectors made by Quickware are tracable up to version 2.6 as beeing a QuickWare detector.
Greenzone made software to block us and there are people that will file Abuse reports on simowners using it.

This is all too bad, but we have found a solution for this.
You can get an Update for the detector you have now.
This Update will be less advanced as the ones you have now.
But it has some features that you dont see, that make this new version undetectable and untracable.

I will not clarify here what these features are.

The Alt detection system is sold and will be taken care of by somone else.
Guy Quicksand will not be giving support anymore, nor is his support team.

All regular users can request the new Detector by email; info@quickware.net
Please make sure you write down your username correctly, do not use your scenename!!

The battle continues....."

Also, Soft Linden had this to say on the Jira:

"A number of you have ARd or sent notes about the other system we removed from the marketplace, pointing out that the creator plans to continue operating in violation of ToS. Stay tuned, and I'll make sure folks understand this internally.

In the mean time, if you see one of his resale vendors, you should Abuse Report the vendor's owner. File the AR against the object's owner whether the vendor is owned by the creator, an alt of the creator, or set out by others for commission. For the AR type, select "Harassment->Soliciting/Inciting others to Violate ToS." Feel free to add a link to this comment.

As always, file ARs based on first-hand knowledge. There's nothing wrong with peers filing additional ARs to underscore importance. However, each person filing should take a close look and ensure they understand the object of the AR and how they would personally justify the AR if asked."

It came to my attention tonight that Quickware Alt Detector, created by Guy Quicksand, is back on the market. As you can see from the screenshot of the product below, it's still violating TOS by revealing alts:

Also disturbing, it's apparently bouncing the http intercept via a scripted prim, so when the media patch gives the pop up it appears to be from Linden Lab.  Extremely deceptive and dangerous:

This is another reminder why it's imperative to keep media and cookies disabled unless you're 100% sure the location you're in is safe.

Please 'watch' the following Jira, to try to put an end to deceptive media requests such as this one: Jira to 'Watch'

I urge everyone to follow the slurl and AR the vendor for Disclosure-Second Life information/Chat/IMs:

  1. Greenzone is alerting me of Quickzone on my home sim. Do you know the name of the actual object so I can find it? Should it be AR'd?
